NDA Training Period for Female Cadets – Everything You Need to Know

The National Defence Academy (NDA) is India’s premier tri-service training institution, where future officers of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force undergo rigorous training before joining their respective academies for specialized courses.

c) Outdoor Activities

  • Drill and parade training to develop discipline and teamwork.

  • Adventure activities like trekking, rock climbing, and sailing.

  • Camps to test survival skills, leadership, and resilience in real field conditions.

  4. Sports & Games – hockey, basketball, football, athletics, etc.

  5. Evening Study / Self-Study Time.

  6. Lights Out – cadets are expected to rest and recover for the next day.

By the end of the training, cadets are expected to:

6. Career Path After NDA

After completing three years at NDA:

  • Female Army cadets go to IMA for one year of pre-commission training.

  • Female Naval cadets go to INA for naval officer training.

  • Female Air Force cadets go to AFA for specialized training in flying, technical, or ground duties.

On successful completion, cadets are commissioned as officers in the Indian Armed Forces.
