Analytical Geometry of Two and Three DimensionsRectangular Cartesian Coordinate System, distance formula, equation of a line, angle between two lines, distance of a point from a line, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola.

Differential Calculus: Concept of a real-valued function, composite functions, one-sided limits, continuity, derivative of a function, and its geometrical and physical interpretations, tangents and normals, maxima and minima of functions of one variable, limits and continuity of functions of two variables.

Integral Calculus and Differential Equations: Integration as a reverse process of differentiation, indefinite integrals of standard functions, definite integrals and their properties, differential equations of the first order and their solutions, linear differential equations of the second order with constant coefficients, and applications of the derivatives in various fields.

Vector Algebra: Vectors in two and three dimensions, scalar and vector products, scalar and vector triple product.

Statistics and Probability: Statistics: Classification of data, frequency distribution, cumulative frequency distribution, graphical representation, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, and probability.

General Ability Test (GAT):

 

The General Ability Test (GAT) in the NDA exam is divided into two parts: English and General Knowledge. Here’s a brief overview of the syllabus for each part:

  • English:

    • Grammar and usage: Parts of speech, usage of articles, prepositions, conjunctions, and tenses.

    • Vocabulary: Synonyms, antonyms, and words commonly confused.

    • Comprehension: Understanding of passages and answering questions based on them.

    • Cohesion in extended text: Ability to express ideas in a coherent and organized manner.

 

  • General Knowledge:

    • Physics: General principles, laws, and applications.

    • General Science: Scientific phenomena in everyday life and basic principles of science.

    • Social Studies: History, geography, and current events.

    • Geography: Physical, social, and economic geography of India and the world.

    • Current Events: Important events happening around the world and in India.
